20 Lovely Bridal Shower Recipes (1)

If I’m throwing a party for someone, I usually spend months on Pinterest saving ideas. I make carefully tailored Spotify playlists and I pull out my prettiest, most elegant appetizer, dessert and co*cktail recipes!

I don’t like making anyone eat off of laps on paper plates so, if possible, all food is finger food, easily held with one hand. co*cktails are easily made into batches so I’m not shaking up drinks all afternoon, and deserts/pastries are also easily served with only a co*cktail napkin or in small jars or glasses. It just keeps things tidy and elegant.

All of the appetizers, co*cktails, pastries and dessert recipes below are easily made and easy to serve!

FAQs

What to wear as a guest to a bridal shower? ›

As with any outfit you choose to wear, you should consider the weather and season when selecting your ensemble for a bridal shower. “In the winter, you can lean into long dresses, jumpsuits, and nice pants. In the summer, it is safe to lean into shorter midi skirts and dresses,” Abbasi notes.

Who pays for the bridal shower traditionally? ›

In short, the host is the one who pays for the bridal shower—or at least some of it. Most commonly, this is the maid of honor, but the couple's relatives, friends or even the to-be-weds themselves can all pitch in to cover the cost of the wedding shower.

What is traditional for a bridal shower? ›

At a bridal shower, guests will often bring gifts for the bride and her future spouse. These gifts are typically items that the couple will need for their new home together. The bride will open her gifts in front of the guests and often express her gratitude with a short speech.

How much should you spend on food for a bridal shower? ›

For example, a buffet-style catering service would cost less than plated meals. However, you'll need to spend more at a bridal shower if you want guests to have the best experience. A budget of $30 to $100 per person is reasonable.

How do I make my bride feel special in the shower? ›

For example, you could serve up her favorite foods and signature drink, decorate in (or wear) her favorite color or reference a film or book she loves in the theme and décor. It's a fun way to make the bride feel extra special on her big day. Add personal details. The guests should feel special too.

How many hours should a bridal shower be? ›

Bridal showers typically last 2-4 hours and are not considered an all-day event. Although, depending on the type of shower you are hosting the time can vary. Most showers will either take place in the morning and serve as a brunch, or in the afternoon served with lunch or finger foods.

What is the best color dress for a bridal shower? ›

It's traditional for the bride, or the couple, to wear white at the bridal shower. This also includes pastel shades, like blush or soft blue, that can be photographed as looking white. All other colors—like bold, bright colors and prints—are fair game.

Is it okay to wear jeans to a bridal shower? ›

Jeans might be appropriate for a very casual bridal shower, especially if it's a relaxed gathering at someone's home. If you decide to wear jeans, choose a pair that's well-fitting and in good condition. Elevate your look by pairing them with a chic blouse or a smart blazer, and add some classy accessories.

What color should the bride wear to her bridal shower? ›

"Typically, the first formal pre-wedding event is your bridal shower, and this is a great party to own the tradition of the bride in white," Fritz says.

How to ask guests to pay for their own meal at a baby shower? ›

It is rude to ask guests to pay for themselves, period. Just as it is rude to charge people to come to a wedding. They are already giving their time to come and honour the mother-to-be. Plus they will be giving a present.

Do bridal showers usually have food? ›

While food is an important part of any bridal shower, this doesn't mean that you have to arrange a full sit-down meal with multiple courses (but you certainly can if that's your goal).

The food and drinks
