What does your summer shoe selection look like? If your answer is ‘I don’t know,’ or ‘exactly the same as last year,’ listen up: Clarks is having an amazing sale that delivers the perfect combo of style, support and pricing.
Clarks—the famous brand with a near-200-year history producing shoes that prioritize comfort—is offering an extra 40 percent off sale styles. We love Clarks because of their classic good looks. Podiatrists praise them for their function. “Clarks offer a lot of support,” says Dr. Polina Zaydenberg. The NYC-based board-certified podiatrist explains: “Most of the shoes have wider toe boxes, which helps prevent bunions, hammertoes and neuromas.” She also says Clarks are great for people with flat feet.
So whether you’re looking for a pair of everydayboat shoes, comfy flats, or chic mules for fancier summer parties (remember those? Fingers crossed on summer socializing!), you’ve come to the right place. Use the code “EXTRA40” at checkout, and you’ll get free shipping too.
Here are some of our absolute favorites from the sale.
Arla Primrose
These comfy sandals—available in regular or wide width—are soft all over, with fabric on top and a generously padded sole below. They look just as cute with a skirt as they do with shorts or jeans and will quickly become your favorite pair of summer shoes. Also in heather gray.
If you love the look of point-toe flats but don’t want the discomfort (or, per Dr. Zaydenberg, a one-way ticket to painful bunions) these slightly square-toed mules are a great alternative. The low heel improves comfort—the doc says a little lift is easier on the foot than stark flatness. And leather lining lets this pair breathe (and feel lovely as soon as you slip inside). Also in zebra stripe and yellow snake!

Step June
With a cork-inspired footbed, this very affordable pair is reminiscent of a certain pricey comfort brand. The Velcro closure ensures a perfect fit, and multiple layers of cushioned foam make these an absolute dream to walk in. Also available in basic black and a stunning metallic rose gold.
Lightweight but substantial enough to provide support, these crisscross sandals have flexible knit straps that gently hug the foot. The extra-padded sole improves shock absorption and creates a strolling-on-clouds feeling. Also available in black and soft blue-gray.
Gladiator styling for real life—this pair has extra arch support (calling all flat-footers!) and a chunky sole that provides significantly more comfort than a strappy flat. The hidden zipper in back makes them easy-on, easy-off. Also in blush, for that neutral-shoe-long-leg look we all love.
Slipping into these chic minimalist sandals is like sliding into a soft sock. The leather is so supple, it molds to your foot from above and below. The comfort is over the top. Wearing these gorgeous flats is a balm for the sole (get it?). Minimalist and of-the-moment, they’ll elevate anything you’re wearing from the ankles on up.

Clarks, founded in England in 1825, is closing as many as 50 of its stores. According to an Oct. 7 report published in the Eastern Daily Press, the shoe company is making a bid to stay afloat by closing up to 50 stores in the U.K., a decision that follows recent closures in the U.S., as well.
He found a company in bad financial condition and with supply chain difficulties. He confessed this in Istanbul during the World Footwear Congress 2023. In fact, the 2022 financial statement saw a reduction in turnover and net profit precisely because of supply chain problems.
Thin soles and lack of cushioning on the ball and heel of your feet can cause your feet to strain, but our cushioning technologies, including Cushion Plus™ and OrthoLite®, provide support where it's needed most. Birkenstocks are a favorite for foot pain thanks to their moldable cork footbed that fits to your foot for complete support. Birkenstock Milano sandals also feature a third strap around the back of the foot for added support, and all three are fully adjustable to keep feet in place.
Apart from lending its name to the shopping centre, Clarks, the biggest shoe brand in the world, has little to do with the success of Clarks Village. Its shoes are in fact now made in China, India, Brazil and Vietnam but not in Britain, after the site and the Village brand was sold.
In cooperation with Health Canada, Clarks is voluntarily recalling four styles of Breeze women's shoes, all in navy or dark navy-blue colors sold the spring/summer 2022 season due to a chemical hazard.
ICONIC shoe chain Clarks has shut several stores this year, following a string of closures in 2023. The high street giant was founded in 1825 and operated across 1,400 stores and franchises internationally at its peak. But as of July 2023, the brand had just 320 UK stores - with plenty more having shut since then.
In January 2021, Viva China Holdings has agreed to acquire 51 per cent of LionRock Capital Partners QiLe Limited, the private equity firm which will own the Clarks brand, for £51 million. A Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) was agreed which saw the Clarks family lose overall control of the company. A CVA doesn't mean that a company has gone bust. Instead, it allows firms that have run out of cash to look at ways to save the business, such as reducing rent rates with landlords.
“Clarks offer a lot of support,” says Dr. Polina Zaydenberg, who is board-certified by the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry in the Prevention and Treatment of Diabetic Foot Wounds and in Diabetic Footwear. “Most of the shoes have wider toe boxes, which helps prevent bunions, hammertoes and neuromas.”
New Balance shoes are often cited as great for people suffering from foot pain. The Fresh Foam 1080V9 Running Shoes for men and women are stylish and comfortable with their mesh uppers. They have a wide toe box that helps to stabilize your feet and their ample cushioning helps with shock absorption.
“For seniors, Vionic and Naturalizer are good options. There are many other options of dress shoes that would be appropriate for longer standing/walking. For women who plan to be in dress shoes for more than a couple hours in a day, they should wear a shoe that is not pointed in the toe with excessive high heels.”
Clark's men's shoes and women's styles have been in production for close to 200 years already, which makes them the leading manufacturer of orthotic shoe products.
Clarks is well-known for its comfortable and practical shoes, and particularly for its desert boot, an ankle boot with crepe rubber sole which was worn by British officers in the Second World War.
