Golf Jumpers for Ladies - Hand-Knitted Ladies' Golf Sweaters Since 1891 (2024)

Unravelling golf sweater design

Essential layering for all dedicated lady golfers, we believe that ladies’ golf sweaters can’t just be functional, each of our golf jumper, golf cardigan and golf slipover designs has to fulfil a range of requirements before we call it Glenmuir golf knitwear. Our women’s sweaters, whether contemporary or classic, must make the wearer feel confident, elegant and satisfied. The knitted shape needs to look feminine and flattering as well as fit comfortably. Each designer golf jumper should feel ‘right’ on the body – only with all those criteria satisfied can you play your best golf game.

The finest yarns, knitted to perfection

All our golf sweaters for ladies are knitted fully fashioned by expert craftspeople, for flat robust seams and a better long lasting fit. Neckline styles include ever-popular v necks, crew necks and versatile zip neck golf jumpers. We favour natural fibres such as cotton, merino wool, lambswool and luxurious cashmere for our golfing knitwear. These yarns naturally insulate, assist in regulating the body’s temperature and moisture levels, and can even filter harmful UV from the sun’s rays. Another reason we favour natural fibres for our golf sweaters is our desire to reduce waste, increase sustainability and promote bio-degradable materials.

Cotton Golf Sweaters

A cotton golf sweateris always a smart choice for the female golfer’s wardrobe. Our ladies’ cotton golf jumpers, cardigans and slipovers are knitted using only ever the finest pure combed cotton, making these knits exceptionally soft, breathable and kind to skin. Cotton is naturally temperature regulating and moisture absorbing. All our ladies’ cotton knitwear is created in a fine gauge, skilfully knitted, fully fashioned, for a smooth, comfortable and flattering fit.

Merino Wool Golf Sweaters

A fine choice in more ways than one, our ladies’ merino golf sweatershave been fashioned from select, Italian-spun extra fine merino wool. These super-soft golf jumpers benefit from expert hand-knitting including manually linked stitches for a refined, smooth silhouette and comfortable feel. The breathable, naturally antibacterial and odour-resisting abilities of merino give you a golf sweater that keeps you feeling fresh, helping to regulate body heat and moisture. Sweaters for ladies, when made from merino, have protection against the sun’s UV radiation. All Glenmuir merino wool golf sweaters are machine washable, shrink resisting and have our signature anti-pill treatment.

Lambswool Golf Sweaters

Our 100% British lambswool golf sweatersare a slightly thicker medium gauge knit than our merino wool jumpers. This is because the fine fleece is spun thicker, for a slightly heavier yarn with distinctive softness. Of course, due to this, a medium gauge lambswool golf sweater has added warmth, superb for the cooler seasons when you want to play golf without a jacket but remain cosy. These painstakingly hand-knitted women’s lambswool jumpers have natural breathability, moisture handling, helpful thermoregulation and can filter UV rays from your skin. Each piece of Glenmuir lambswool golf knitwear is made fully machine washable and has our signature anti-pill treatment for lasting good looks.

Cashmere Golf Sweaters

Lustrous, luxurious and very exclusive, our ladies’ 100% cashmere golf sweatersare truly special. Unmatched for its soft and fine feel, we use only the finest grade A cashmere wool for these premium golf jumpers. Once collected (it takes as much as a total of one year’s fibres from two cashmere goats to produce enough wool for just one pure cashmere ladies’ sweater) fibres are spun into yarn and dyed in the UK for our expert craftspeople in Scotland to knit each fully fashioned cashmere golf jumper. Cashmere, along with its fabled softness, has natural hypoallergenic, anti-bacterial properties and phenomenal insulating abilities that make these women’s sweaters so treasured.

Touch of Cashmere Golf Sweaters

Our Touch of Cashmere golf sweaters give the lady golfer cashmere and cotton blended knits that bring together the best of both natural fibres. These ladies’ golf jumpers have a beautifully soft handle, excellent breathability and that luxury-look sheen. In a medium gauge and choice of designs, each sweater is skilfully well-made with stitches linked manually for a superb fit and feel.
