Polymer Additives for Engineering Thermoplastics

Polymers that have to meet high technical requirements require the support of specialty polymer additives.

Processing Agents

Processing auxiliaries and aids such as nucleating agents, lubricating and release agents with a strong focus on polyamides, polyesters and glass reinforced polypropylene.

The BRUGGOLEN® P product line are organic and inorganic additives acting as crystallization accelerators, shortening cycle times during processing drastically and improving the mechanical properties of the finished parts via a hom*ogeneous crystallization.

Additives for PA and PET Recycling

Besides being environment friendly and reducing CO2 emissions, PA, PET and other ETP recycling can be an important factor of increased profitability for compounders and processors. This should be an enticer further to world Directives such as the Waste Framework Directive objective of achieving 50% recycling by 2020 in the E.U.

However, regranulation alone is not sufficient to meet high value requirements mainly due to:


  • Degradation and unsuitable molecular weight
  • Discoloration (Thermo-oxidative damage)
  • Unsuitable processing behavior
  • Inability to match mechanical properties
  • Missing performance additives
  • Various incompatibilities


Therefore, specialty additives - such as Processing Auxiliaries, Heat and Light Stabilizers, Antioxidants, Modifiers - are required to modify the recyclate properties specifically to meet the requested properties of virgin resins.
