What do international students struggle with the most? ›

International students have a much more difficult time going to school because there are many documents to sign that allow you to keep your immigration up to date. Although there's a lot of help from international advisers and people working at the school, it is still a student's responsibility to keep up.

The ISS advising team serves as your primary resource for immigration-related issues such as maintaining your non-immigrant status, travel, health insurance requirements, employment authorizations, as well as cultural adjustment issues.

International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS)

Rutgers is home to more than 9,000 international students and scholars from about 125 countries around the world.

The learning is personal and interactive. However, being an international student is not always easy. International students can experience challenges in a number of areas, including language barriers, academics, social and cultural differences, discrimination, financial stressors, and mental health concerns.

I-20 requests can be submitted through the iNorthTX portal for students who have been admitted. Per federal regulation, UNT is not able to issue I-20s to international students until they have received full admission to UNT. Please check your MyUNT portal for more information on your admission status.

Most foreign citizens are not eligible for federal student aid from the U.S. Department of Education. There are, however, some instances in which noncitizens may be eligible for financial aid from the U.S. federal government. GPA Requirements

Rutgers–New Brunswick: must have earned a cumulative grade-point average of 2.5 (with no Ds or Fs in the required STEM courses) when the application is submitted.
