Common high FODMAP soup ingredients
If you are new to the low FODMAP diet, you may still be getting to grips with what you can and can’t eat during the elimination phase and you may be cautious about sneaky FODMAPs.

How to make low FODMAP soup
Choose only low FODMAP vegetables and low FODMAP ingredients. We suggest checking the quantities of certain ingredients in the Monash app.
Some vegetables are FODMAP free, so you can add them in quantities you like.
According to Monash, FODMAP free vegetables include:
- Potatoes
- Carrots
- English spinach
- Kale
- Collard greens
When making a soup, pay attention to FODMAP stacking.
The easiest way to avoid this is to combine vegetables that contain different types of FODMAPs when consumed in larger quantities. An example of the recommended combination is courgette and broccoli.
To save time, cook your soup in bulk and put portions in the freezer for a later date.
