NEAR MARSHFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - The Missouri Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash on I-44 near Marshfield.
The patrol says Melanie McDaris, 47, of Hartville, Mo., and Christopher Maples, 56, of Strafford, Mo., died in the crash.
Troopers responded to Tuesday’s crash around 3:30 p.m. near mile marker 96. Investigators say Maples lost control of his vehicle in the westbound lanes, crashing into the median. The car then flipped. It ended up hitting McDaris’ vehicle in the eastbound lanes. Both drivers died at the scene of the crash.
The crash backed up traffic for a short time as crews investigated.
