The girl’s life has been complicated since childhood.
The girl named Anna wrote tous saying that she was distraught, and she had noidea what todoinher complex situation. She’s only17, and she was wondering ifthere was any legal action she could take. She started her story with asmall background.
She wrote that she lives with her biological mom and her husband since her parents separated along time ago. Atfirst, Anna lived with her dad since she was 3years old. Her dad won custody after the custody battle.
However, her bio dad later lost custody ofAnna after hehad asevere work accident that left him paralyzed, and asaresult hewasn’t able totake care ofhis daughter. Anna continued seeing him, but had tomove intolive with her mom and her stepdad.
She has astepbrother, and the relations with the family are very tough. Basically, her stepdad now says that Anna has disrupted their lives bycoming back into her mom’s and his life, because she’s become anextra person they have totake careof.

Her mother and stepdad let her know that Anna’s mother would only help her with the basic things, such asagraduation cap and gown, and would pay for agraduation photo. They left ittoAnna topay for the rest, including prom. Anna explained that she’s been saving all her earnings infull, and she was also making extra money doing nails, which she used asher spending money.
One day, she went prom dress shopping and bought herself abeautiful dress that cost $1,000. Anna wrote that the feeling ofher dream coming true was even more dear toher than any money inthe world.
Anna’s stepdad ruined her dream because ofhis own ambitions.
Anna goes onwith her emotional story, saying that when she first showed her mom and stepdad the dress, they asked how much itwas. She honestly told them the amount and since then the drama ensued. Anna’s stepdad couldn’t come toterms with the thought that Anna bought such aposh dress. Hesaid that itwas irresponsible ofher and atotal waste ofmoney. Hesaid she should have used itfor paying some ofthe family bills.
Later, they got into aneven bigger argument because Anna’s stepdad suggested she must help her stepbrother Olaf pay for his own prom, towhich she saidno. Hebecame furious and called her selfish and said that itwas not fair that Anna got anexpensive dress while her brother would wear something cheaper tohis prom.
The next morning, Anna woke upand couldn’t find her prom dress anywhere. She asked her stepdad ifhedidn’t see itsince her mom was atwork. And hesaid hedid, and infact hewas washingit, while giving her asmile. Anna then saw her dress inthe washing machine, put towash onthe heavy-duty cycle. Itwas completely ruined. All ofthe rhinestones came out, and the colors were washed out.
Anna was totally desperate and had noone togoto.
The next day, Anna was totally broken. Inthe morning, her uncle came over totheir house and started aconversation with Anna’s mom. Anna recalls how she heard them talking about what happened, and her uncle blamed Anna’s mother for letting her stepdad behave this way and not leaving him.
The man was convinced that this iswhy Anna’s stepfather felt comfortable todoall these things tohis stepdaughter. Anna’s mom disagreed with him, saying that she always defended Anna and has never taken off Anna’s hard-earned money. She also revealed that the night before she and her husband had atalk, and hesaid that Anna had better used her earnings topay the family bills ofhis son’s prom, towhich Anna’s mom saidno, just like Anna did before.
Anna’s stepfather later admitted that hewashed the prom dress toteach her alife lesson that she shouldn’t have spent that much money onadress that could bedestroyed soeasily.
Anna’s uncle came tothe rescue and saved the day for the desperate girl.
Anna was very fortunate tohave anuncle who has offered toreplace the dress, and hesuggested paying the full sum forit. They called the boutique and explained the whole situation tothem, and they agreed toorder another dress for Anna.
Anna’s mom sent her stepfather athreatening message, and she was going tofinally divorce the man, who went sofar inbuilding arelationship with her daughter. She has also contacted all their step-in-laws and told them this disgraceful story.
Most ofthem were really shocked, and some revealed that Anna’s stepdad has often asked them tohelp him with his finances. Because, asitturned out, hehas bought somany things which hecouldn’t keep upwith.
Anna wrote that, though her story finally had ahappy end, and she was very beautiful and happy ather prom, she will always remember how her stepdad misbehaved with her. Hetried tocome intouch after her prom and even wanted tovisit her prom, but she cut all communication with him forever.
Her mom isnow going through avery painful divorce procedure, but Anna sincerely believes that from nowon, their life will only get better.
